New Club President

Before our 47th Charter Anniversary celebration dinner, Outgoing Lions Club President, Lion Ruth Martin, handed over the chain of office to the club’s new President, Lion John Potter MJF. John was previously Club President in the 2013-2014 and 2019-2020 Lions’ year.

John has also previously held roles at regional level, and was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship by the Central and Eastern Lion’s District in recognition of the work he has undertaken there. The fellowship aims to continue the legacy of the Lions Clubs International founder Melvin Jones.

Events already confirmed for Lion President John’s year include the Club’s stall at the MAFF on the 3rd September, and the Autumn Fete on September 30th.

March Lions Club are pleased to announce a programme of events throughout 2023!

On Saturday 10th June, the Gala will return to West End Park as part of the March Summer Festival. An integral part of March Lions Club’s calendar in many different forms for the majority of our 47 years we are pleased to be returning again this year!

Finally, on Saturday 30th September, the annual Autumn Fair will return again to the grounds of St Peter’s Church. Much like our spring fair, there will be stalls from local charities, small businesses and refreshments from March Lions.

Santa on Tour 2022 Thank You

Once again March Lions Club with the help of the Rotary Club of March took Santa on a tour of the streets of March throughout December.

Thanks to the generous donations of the people of March, we raised a total of £800 to be shared between two organisations: Parkinson’s UK and Young People March. We also collected food for March Foodbank.

Alongside this, March Lions also spent the day at Sainsbury’s on Saturday 10th December and at Tesco on Saturday 17th December with the sleigh, where we raised a over £1,000 for club funds. This will be used throughout the coming year to support local organisations.

On behalf of all involved in the sleigh, we would like to give a big thank you to everyone that continues to support us.
